Just got back from a friend's wedding (well, actually, from a friend's wedding reception). I had to hang out here at the office because at this time (9:31pm), traffic still sucks! yeah, and I had to take a cab cuz of all these pre-wedding costume changes.

I was gonna post my fabulous pics from my bora trip, but then for some reason, I got so pikon when some very private pics were "stolen" from my pc. Now I know how these hollywood pips get so ines when the razzis start taking their photos without their consent. Duh! there's a reason why it's stored in one's "PERSONAL COMPUTER" cuz it's supposed to be PERSONAL!

It was me in a towel! What could you possibly get from that except annoy those who you will show it to! I purposely not emailed it to anyone because of the simple fact that it could get out. I didn't email it to my bestfriend of 11 years, because i didn't want it to get out!

Hindi naman sa nag fi-feeling ako or what. Hello, alam kong minsan umaangulo akong derek ramsay, pero naman hindi pa well-toned ang muscles ko. kahiya sa ibang taong hindi ko naman kaibigan, na makakita di ba? And hindi ko naman pinagkakailang ipakita ang pics na yun cuz it was supposed to be taken for fun. Na pag pinakita ko sa ibang tao, matatawa sila. In other words, punchline ko yun, Ako dapat nagpapakita! Wag kang mang agaw ng punchline! kung wala kang sense of humor eh tigilan ang pag eeffort na magpatawa using other people's punchline!

See, i really don't mind about other people seeing the pics. I took those so that others could see it and they end up laughing, if not nauseated, either way, i get the kicks out of it!

My thing really is, the pics were not suppose to leave my workstation. The operative word being MY. I just hate the feeling that people can actually get personal stuff from my workstation and pronounce to everyone that it's actually cool to do that! I've worked here for 2 years and I've never done that to anyone's workstation, because no one is supposed to do that!

And now, I have to do this "standby mode" every time i leave my desk for fear of other files, personal or otherwise, being downloaded from my workstation, and spread around like a joke! Arggggh, i hate not trusting the people i work with! kaines di ba, parang something was taken away from me. It's not the pics, but the freedom of trusting the people around you!

Sorry, if i'm making a big deal out of this, pero kase, major violation yun eh, hindi na nga sa code of discipline cuz i'm not really a big fan of issuing memos, pero more of a personal violation. i mean, di ba, ni-share ko na nga eh, pinakita ko na eh! hindi pa be enough yun! kaines di ba!

People would argue na, "ano ka ba, hello, gawin bang big deal, pictures lang yan, eh palage namang bukas yung workstation mo, tapos pinakita mo pa to everyone, so anong binoblog mo jan".

But precisely my point, the reason i leave my workstation on, kahit may financials jan, is i trust the people around me! because i don't do that to other people! i don't go on downloading personal documents from other people's workstation, because there is no reason for me to do it! And now, i can't do it anymore! grrrrrr!

That is why i'm so pikon! Ang conscious ko na ngayon sa pc ko! Haaay buti na lang at may christmas party para ma divert ang attention ko!

My friend Mina's officemate, Tin, has an EP for a mom. So i was offered a plum role - that of the guy who walks from the bar to the table then claps senselessly to the tune of....ooohhhh move your body, move your body, as the alma moreno does her stuff on stage.

we were there from 7pm till about 12midnight. and, mahn, that was one heck of an experience. ang saya! super.

one hitch though, from now on, i have to wear a cap or shades just to maintain my anonymity....bwahahahahahhahaha!!!!!

watch mga anghel na walang langit on abs-cbn, starting next week.... abangan nyo ang kapanapanabik na role ko!

and the kid who plays pepay, ahhhh she's such a darling. sobrang adorable nya. as in, and my gosh, the energy level of that kid --- grabe. galeng sumayaw, just watch the show talaga, galeng nya.

It's not clear though if they (Steph and BJ) will be competing or will be some sort of mentors for the tribes. Whatever, for as long as she's there. She was the reason I watched Survivor Palau.

Teach Us to Pray

Jayson, my small group leader, has been prodding us to start writing things we learn from the church services and from our small group meetings. He said that it's the best way for us to remember things. Okay, so I bought a small notebook (hala, low tech walang pambili ng pda) and i'll start on Sunday. Although, I have started writing two sundays ago pa, pero sa piece of paper lang.

I'm taking it a notch higher though, I'm posting here on my blog whatever i learn from the sunday services. Hope you learn from them as well!

Last Sunday, we've started with the series, TEACH US TO PRAY. For seven weeks, the preaching will be about praying.

WEEK 1: Teach us to Pray

Luke 11:1-12
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished,one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray,just as John taught his disciples."

He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sinned against us. And lead us not into temptation.'

Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothihng to set before him.'

Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. the door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't give you anything.' "I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs."

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Three Attitudes we need when praying:

1. Pray Boldly
Hebrews 4:16 "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

I think the key here is really know your relationship with God. We have to see him as our Father. A Father we could always run to. Sometimes kase, minsan when we pray we do this, "Lord, alam mo na naman prayer ko eh, ikaw na bahala sa aken, in Jesus name, Amen" What we don't realize is, when it comes to God, we can be as bold as we can get.

So get those prayers coming!

2. Pray Persistently

Remember when we were kids, when we want something so badly, we don't stop pestering our parents about it? We'd be throwing tantrums here and there till we get what we want?

With God, we have to be persistent in our prayers also. Not that God needs reminding, but that when we never stop praying until we get what we want, in the process, God prepares our hearts, our attitudes and our perspectives, so that when he gives it to us, it couldn't be more perfect.

3. Pray Expectantly
Joshua 21:45 "Not one of all the Lord's good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled."

One of my favorite promises in the Bible is this: Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you!

When we pray, we should believe in our hearts that God will have an answer!

i am watching the correspondents now on abs-cbn, and their feature is on the veracity of our claims that indeed agapito flores invented the fluorescent lamp. grabe to, kase since gradeschool, eto na yung alam naten that a filipino by the name of agapito flores invented the fluorescent lamp. and hello, super proud kaya tayo about it.

but it turns out, there are no historical facts that would support our claims. even g.e. doesn't acknowledge mr. flores. so every bit of pride that we have of him, is just a HOAX. as manuel quezon iii(a national historian, and president quezon's apo) put it, he was just an URBAN LEGEND!

Today, I'm officially an employee of another company. I have with me materials which i need to read before getting trained by the product devt people. Grabe, wala akong maintindihan!!!!!! IT solutions company kase ang new employer ko, i've been with a consumer goods company for 4 years. HALA! it's a totally different world. as in soooooo different. although looking forward naman ako, mejo scary lang kase this time, mejo mahirap mag-imbento ng mga sasabihin kase sobrang technical nung products.

ang gusto ko lang naman kase talaga ay matuto gumawa ng pan de sal!

i just watched CRASH starring Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon, Jeniffer Esposito, Ryan Philippe (Mr. Reese Witherspoon) and the rest i don't know the names na.

After watching the movie I just thought that Oscars should have an award for best ensemble cast. i think one body gives this kind of award, Screen Actors Guild ata.

Different stories, different lives, different views on racism, but at one point, they all kind of collide with each other.

Hirap ikwento kase dame nga characters, each has a story to tell. major theme ng movie is racism, different issues nga lang.

All i can say is great cast. great acting. sandra's at her finest here. although short nga lang yung roles nila kase ang dame talaga nila. and the mexican guy with the daughter, grabe yung scene where his daughter ran towards him to "protect" him from a gunman. then yung girl yung nabaril. Galeng nung mexican guy and his wife. plus the persian gunman.

I'm really hoping they get nominated or something, but i guess mejo malabo, kase nga wala namang ensemble acting award sa oscars.

i'm not really a morning person. it's so not me to be posting on my blog so early in the morning. eh when i was still working, i had to be in by 7:35am, 7am pa lang ako gigising. so ano ang ginagawa ko at nagpopost ako ng ganito kaaga?????

blame it on tall caramel machiatto na hindi ata nabrew ng tama kaya my stomach kinda feels funny. mina and i had some sort of a business meeting last night. kaya eto di ako makatulog dahil sa caffeine.

anyway, whatever comes out of that meeting, i'll post it here!

Bum for the first time (in 5 years)

yikes, after my first job, this is the first time na ako'y isang certified BUM!

i woke up at 7am, punta las pinas ng mga 9am, then had lunch ng mga 12:30 sa gateway. (had tacos for lunch at taco bell, hmmm it's not all that it's cracked up to be, though) tapos uwe na via lrt 2. eto first post ko as a bum!

Last Day

Today is my last day at work! hindi pa ko nag tuturn-over. balik pa ko August 8. still, no trace of sadness, i guess excited talaga ako. ay meron pala, yung binigay ko na I.D. ko, waaaaah i dont wanna let go of it, ang bata pa kase ng itsura ko dun, totoy na totoy, yun lang ang kaisa-isang evidence na photogenic ako, hahahahaha!!!! so, pinascan ko at i had it printed sa photopaper.

ang dami ko pang maiiwan, yung home pc ko, kase paayos ko pa sa isd namen (libre kase hehehehe). toothbrush and toothpaste, infrared port ko, speaker, photo albums sa pc, mp3's, wmv's, di ko pa natatransfer sa home pc ko kase nga sira. grrrrrrrr. .. so balik pa din ako talaga to do all these.

to everyone sa phimco, THANK YOU SO MUCH! a big part of who i've become (professionally), is Phimco. maraming salamat sa mga paracetamol, antibiotic, omega pain killer, tissue, internet access, libreng check-up, payong, tshirts, caps, muscle relaxants, libreng luches, meriendas, at breakfasts, at higit sa lahat, sa libreng paprint ng colored pictures!!!!!!

Last 3 days

this is probably the last time i'm gonna post from my office. last 3 days ko na lang dito. haaaay. i gave my notice last week and hindi pa rin nag sisink in na i'll be gone in a few days. i really cannot identify my feelings right now. relieved? maybe ehehehehe... pero sad? i dunno pero di talaga. considering na ive spent 4 years here, no trace of sadness, or siguro di pa talaga nagsisink in yung thought na when i wake up monday morning, wala na kong trabaho, hehehehe.

ONE LAST LOOK AT MY WORK STATION.....clutter, clutter, clutter,

moving on..... this is one of my top 3 most favorite things to do. new start, new faces, new challenges.

FAITH. this is all i have now. "And you know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him and who have been called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28. This verse has kept me holding on. i'm not being fatalistic naman, pero choosing between worrying about what the future holds and believing that whatever happens, God will always be at the other end, i choose the latter. sometimes kase, it's easier for us to worry about the things we have no control of. lately, i have learned to just give my worries to God and I know that he'll always be in control. that's how you get peace of mind i guess.

sometimes, things don't turn out as planned. minsan iba yung dumarating dun sa gusto nateng mangyari. what do we do about it? sometimes kase, we are so caught up with the things we want for ourselves that we don't see the bigger picture, the picture that God has planned for our lives. sometimes, we miss out on the greater opportunities because we fixate over our selfish plans. don't get me wrong, pero kase di ba we have the tendency to be stubborn, nasa harap na natin yung opportunity, pero di naten nakikita kase, we still insist dun sa gusto naten. we fail to realize that God knows what's best for us. always.

just watched the movie on video last night. WOW! one of smartest and most riveting movies i've ever seen. so well-acted.

natalie portman's the best! she deserved the oscar this year (i can't for the life of me, imagine how cate blanchett won over her, maybe for sentimental reasons. fine she's a great actress, but no way she could've beaten natalie portman in this movie). she was such a revelation in this movie. Alice, her character, has the innocence and sweetness of a young girl, and the passion of a woman in-love, then scorned, then used, then in-love again, then finally, freed.

and Clive Owen, it's my first time to see him in a movie(as far as i can recall, though), and wow, this man can act. galeng nya, grabe. he's doctor larry. funny yung chat nila ni jude law sa net. and the time when he found out that he's been had. ang galeng how he showed both his gentleman-ly side and his almost-animalistic-lust, plus the torment of being had for the 2nd time around by the same man. galing nung pag-transition nung character nya, he was able to show that his bad side has always been lurking around, but what you see is his good side. but in the end, his bad side finally took control over him.

Julia's okay naman, kaya lang mejo distracting yung superstar image nya. i wish na someone with a less stellar status could have been asked to play her character, Anna. (it's the same feeling i felt when i watched War of the Worlds, yung tipong sana hindi si Tom Cruise. dapat parang Matthew broderick sa Godzilla lang, big movie, with not-so-big a star. Big Movie + a Bigger Star = distracting, in my opinion lang). great confrontation scene though, between larry and anna, when she told him that he's been seeing Dan for a year already and they just had something special on their couch. one of Julia's best. kinda reminds you of her erin brockovich. pero buti nga hindi masyado madame yung scenes nya kahit sya yung biggest star sa apat. I just texted Mina nga last night, and i told her, sana mag-horror naman si Julia Roberts, para lang maiba. Jude Law, hmmm, okay din naman, pero i was able to watch Alfie first kase so parang similar lang yung roles. sana nagpalit na lang sila ng Clive ng role, para mejo different naman for Jude.

Great story! deals with man's basic instincts, love and lust! dialouges are smart and provoking! mejo for mature audience nga lang, hehehehe.

and btw, Damien Rice's Blower's Daughter couldn't have been more perfect for the movie. Great Song! Great Voice!

Sin City - loved it!!!!!

watched sin city last saturday and i just loved it. i was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time. it makes you wanna start reading comic books. kase, the movie makes you feel like you're reading a comic book. galeng sobra. i didn't know na adaptation pala sya of a comic book story. galeng ng directors. frank miller, robert rodriguez, and guest director si quentin tarantino. the gore in the movie kinda reminded me of kill bill. here's what i keep telling my friends, "if you liked kill bill, you're gonna love sin city, if you hated kill bill, don't bother!"

it was definitely an experience just watching the film. it's very visual. this one's definitely a must-see.
