an enemy called average - john l. mason

i've read this book a couple of times already, but it never fails to give me fresh insights. it has 77 nuggets of wisdom with pretty catchy titles. here are my favorites:

the only place to start is where you are

don't ask time where it's gone; tell it where to go

status quo (latin for "the mess we're in")

don't waste your tomorrows wondering on your yesterdays

noah didn't wait for his ship to come in -- he built one

a goal is a dream with a deadline

an alibi is just a lie

the best helping hand you will ever find is at the end of your own arm

those who don't take chances don't make advances

even postage stamps become useless when they get stuck on themselves

keep your temper. nobody else wants it

never surrender your dream to noisy negatives

if in doubt, don't

an army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep

when God is all you have, the He is all you need

Do you count your blessings or think your blessings don't count

hearing tells you that the music is playing; listening tells you what the song is saying

don't wait for all the lights to be green before you leave the house

the measure of a man is not in what he does on sunday, but in who he is Monday through saturday
